چکیده

Introduction Skeletal metastasis is catastrophic in patients with renal cell carcinoma (RCC), leading to skeletal-related events (SRE) such as nerve entrapment, hypercalcemia and even pathological fractures, which may require surgical intervention. The nature of the bone advanced RCC large, destructive, hyper-vascular mostly lytic. present retrospective analysis aims identify potential risk factors for predicting SREs metastasis. Methods clinical data 42 at least one episode SRE were reviewed, correlations between erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR), alkaline phosphatase (ALP), C-reactive protein (CRP), haemoglobin (Hb), carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) metastases analysed. Risk identified by multivariate logistic regression analysis. Bone was diagnosed on a scan. receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve calculated cut-off value independent correlation factors. Results areas under ROC ALP, Hb, CRP, ESR 0.84, 0.76, 0.86 0.88, respectively, suggesting excellent discriminatory capability sufficient discriminative ability Hb Multivariate showed associated skeletal Conclusion We propose that an A.C.H.E. score encompassing are developing concomitant patients. For new patients, if values ALP >128 U/L, CRP ≥74 mg/L, <11.5 g/L, ≥55 mm/hr detected, intensive monitoring scanning warranted these cases higher events.

C-reactive protein and erythrocyte sedimentation rate: Continuing role for erythrocyte sedimentation rate

Background: Erythrocyte Sedimentation Rate (ESR) and C-reactive protein (CRP) tests are often done to detect or monitor patients with suspected inflammatory disorders. The objective of the study was to ascertain if the manual ESR test added value to the information available from automated CRP results alone. Methods: In this retrospective, observational study at a safety-net hospital, the ESR a...

C-Reactive Protein and Erythrocyte Sedimentation Rate in Orthopaedics

C-reactive protein (CRP) and erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR) are known as acute phase proteins, which reflect a measure of the acute-phase response. The term “acute phase” refers to local and systemic events that accompany inflammation. Local responses include vasodilation, platelet aggregation, neutrophil chemotaxis, and release of lysosomal enzymes. Systemic responses include fever, leuk...

C-Reactive Protein, Erythrocyte Sedimentation Rate and Orthopedic Implant Infection

BACKGROUND C-reactive protein (CRP) and erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR) have been shown to be useful for diagnosis of prosthetic hip and knee infection. Little information is available on CRP and ESR in patients undergoing revision or resection of shoulder arthroplasties or spine implants. METHODS/RESULTS We analyzed preoperative CRP and ESR in 636 subjects who underwent knee (n=297), hi...

Can we consider erythrocyte sedimentation rate and C-reactive protein as a severity index in pemphigus vulgaris?

Background: Erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR) and C-reactive protein (CRP) are 2 inflammatory indicators that increase in many pathologic and physiologic conditions. Pemphigus vulgaris (PV) is an autoimmune skin disease in which autoantibodies against desmogleins cause acantholysis. In this study we have measured ESR and CRP levels in patients with PV to evaluate the relationship between an ...
